CTM Operation and Maintenance Training
Version 4.1 Rev B
Course Duration
2 days.
Prerequisites
To gain maximum benefit from the course, students need experience in the provisioning and operation of DWDM or optical transport equipment, including the following basic SONET or SDH knowledge:
  • payload and overhead
  • topologies
  • protection
It is also recommended students attending this class take the Cisco ONS 15454 Provisioning and Operation Training.
Course content
The Cisco Transport Manager (CTM) Operation and Maintenance course enables the students to use the CTM network management system to manage a variety of Cisco optical networking products from the Cisco 15000 family. Working in small groups of up to three people per node, students complete a wide range of tasks covering many features and functions. They start with the installation procedures, followed by the user administration. The focus of the course in on the element management, covering the inventory, configuration, performance, security and fault management, including reporting. The course concludes with system administration and troubleshooting discussion.
